At HNTB, we tackle the scariest of renovations. Perhaps none was more intimidating than the $225M renovation of University of Michigan’s “Big House”—the largest stadium in the U.S. and the second-largest in the world. Renovations included demolition of existing press box, replacement of utilities, restrooms and safety code updates, and upgrade of new fan amenities—including club seats and suites, and widened aisles. Missing a home game was not an option. HNTB completed work on time and on budget, and not one football game or commencement event was interrupted.
