Athletics Master Plan Stanford

HNTB completed a concept-level master plan for future improvements of primary varsity and PE/Recreation/Club Sports/IM facilities and fields. The master plan outlines a framework for facility improvements to meet current and future program needs, and was developed in consideration of overall campus planning principles to form a cohesive, well-organized and identifiable athletic campus.

The update to the Stanford University Department of Athletics, Physical Education & Recreation (DAPER) Athletic Facilities Master Plan focuses on eight projects:

  • A new campus tennis complex

  • Taube Tennis Center

  • Maples Pavilion

  • Burnham Pavilion and Ford Center

  • A new Olympic sports training building

  • Stanford Stadium

  • Squash Courts

  • Softball

The update process was divided into a Discovery Phase effort (Phase I) and a Development Phase effort (Phase II), and relied on previous master plan work, which was completed in May 2013.
